You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
— Johnny Cash

Our name comes from a book I read about the photojournalistic life of Edward Curtis, who created the most exhaustive collection of photographs of the Native American tribes across the U.S. His first subject was Angeline, the daughter of Chief Sealth. The natives named him "The Shadow Catcher" because they knew he was capturing a life that would soon be lost. Wow...."Capturing a life that would son be lost"... man that hit me... as that is precisely what we attempt to do with our music.

We capture the emotions of a moment in time and attempt to put that moment to music. What a noble sentiment.  We make Americana Music... but there isn't really a genre for all the musical influences that show up in our music. Part folk, blues, country, soul, and rock, with a bit of a tribal, rhythmic element. Best way to explain our music is not to... just come out to our shows... and leave a changed person... feeling a little more connected to the community around you and yourself.
